Self Defence

August 22, 2005
I took a two day self defence for women class. i absolutely recommend it to everyone and anyone. it was so useful and i believe am more streetwise now. I just feel like doing more of that sort of thing. i can’t give you much detail into what we learn it will only make our attackers more wiser you will have to go to find out. But i’ll tell you one thing whenever you are being attacked calm down, and remember to breathe in breathe out to allow blood flow to your brains so you can think of a way of getting out of the situation. Think before you react and i pray you never get into such situation.
In september when am back at uni i am joining a taekwondo or karate or kickboxing society just so i can have more chances of protecting myself.

update

August 18, 2005

i guess i blog alot when I am depressed, it shows in my lack of post recently and the fact that i no longer have internet access at home.
lots of things have happend in my life lately and i havent recorded a single one so i’ll just do so in a brief summary.

Two London bombings the first very close to my house and my sister was so lucky to have got the 30 Bus just before the one that exploded my sympathy to those who had to go through such ordeal. As soon as i heard about the first one i called my sister at work just to check she was okay. She works just past Kings cross she had to walk home later that afternoon. I only heard about it from a text a friend of mine sent I hardly watch news or BBC1 that early in the morning but now i do on a regular basis just to check if anything else has happened.

On a more happier note i did a few free course at my local college they were photography, fashion photography, video making and self defence for women. Each course was like a week long i enjoyed all of them (indepth analysis later) especially self defence for women i think am a bit more streetwise now.

During this activities my bike saddle was stolen and i watched as the thief rode away and turned a corner on his own bike. The police did nothing apparently stealing bike seats is not counted as a serious offence. they even called me to ask if i really wanted to pursuit the investigation even though i wouldn’t get the saddle back.

Right now i have bought a new saddle for my bike and tommorrow am volunteering at a kids “riding their bikes with confidence summer fun”
