Philippians 4:6-7
This book really helped me through the first phase of truly understanding what Christianity was all about.
I was born into a Christian family.
We all went to church but I just never understood or liked it.
I always knew there was a God, I was taught to pray as a child and always spoke to him.
When I was 18 and at University I really think thats when my journey towards getting to know God really started.
I had all sort of questions I needed answered.
Atheist’s asking me life questions just because I happened to be a Christian.
In there effort to pull me away from the notion of the existence of God they pushed me towards him.
For I ran to my father with the same questions they had asked and in his loving way he guided me towards people who where further in their journey towards him. He guided me to a church.
A church which happened to be reading this book.
When I started reading this book it filled the gaps in my knowledge of what I knew already about God.
It gave truths to fight the lies that I thought where truths. It really did begin my journey.
This book would not have had much effect if I didnt have people around me to discuss things with, to grow with.
This is what a church is, the people, the family, we grow together.
Heavenly Father, thank you that you will go with me through this day,
that you will bless me and use me to bless others.
Today I take your armor:
the belt of truth around me,
your righteousness as a breastplate to guard the desires of my heart,
the shoes of the good news of your peace,
the shield of faith to repel the attack of the evil one,
the helmet of salvation to guard the thoughts of my mind,
and the sword of the spirit which is your word.
I ask you to surround each member of my family with your protection as they walk through this day.
Guard them from physical and spiritual harm,
I believe you to do this and I thank you for it.
